Mission Statement
To identify, support, develop and promote a broad range of cultural activities across Oxford County to improve the lives of people living in Oxford as well as increasing the appeal to visit, work and play in this county.
Vision
We at Oxford Creative Connections Inc. have a vision for Oxford County.
We see a county in which culture is understood to be central to making Oxford a place where people want to live, work, visit, and invest;
We see a county where growth and development are managed in a way that preserves the community’s cultural resources and unique rural and small town atmosphere;
We see a county where creativity, culture and tourism are understood as major parts of the economy;
We see a county that supports and values a dynamic cultural sector of arts, heritage and cultural organizations and individuals committed to collaboration and shared resources;
Purpose and Mandate
- To create a vehicle for enhancing communications within the Oxford cultural community (broad definition), to facilitate the affiliation between individuals and organizations having the same or similar purpose and to create a vehicle by which people with like interests can come together in order to share resources and information. Communications need to reach individuals and organizations at the grass-roots level;
- To assist and support activities from and within the Oxford cultural community;
- To enhance promotion and publicity of activities and events across the county to the residents of Oxford and surrounding area;
- To disseminate information about funding opportunities, to assist organizations and individuals in accessing funds, and to support one of the directions of Oxford Community Foundation to develop a fund and provide funding for culture in Oxford County;
- To advise and cooperate with authorities, departments of government and other bodies and agencies on matters concerned directly or indirectly with culture in Oxford County;
- This group will be considered enabling not disabling.
